No matter what’s going on in your life, God is LOVE (I John 4:8) and loves YOU, and desires to pour healing, forgiveness, joy, strength, meaning and purpose into your life. We are not discouraged or impressed by who you are or your condition in life. You are extremely important to God and because He can do anything, there is nothing in your life too hard for Him to change for the better.
The most important value among the Christians at Heritage is LOVE and our goal is that everything we are and do must reflect LOVE or it will fail (I Corinthians 13). Anyone and everyone is welcome and accepted at Heritage and we depend upon the Bible and the Holy Spirit to lead us and teach us the necessary Truth for our lives.
Pastor Phil Schoonmaker and his wife Janie have been married 38 years and have been engaged in pastoral ministry for 29 years. They have three sons, one daughter, and 10 grandchildren. Their simple desire for each person is that they become more like Jesus every day.
Heritage Christian Church traces its roots back to 1982 when a small group of Christians on upper Cape Cod joined together to found a new church that would endeavor to reflect the purity, passion and purposes of the first Christian believers in Jerusalem over 2000 years ago—clearly described in the New Testament book of Acts. This founding desire and intent remains the guiding principle underlying every service, ministry and program of Heritage—from the K-12 Heritage Academy for the godly education of children to our local outreach compassion ministries and overseas mission efforts. We know that without Christ we can accomplish nothing of eternal value, and everything we do is for His Kingdom.
